Melissa has over fifteen years of marketing experience, both on the client and agency side. She was Director of Advertising & Brand Management at Charles Schwab, where she was responsible for numerous integrated campaigns, including the highly successful "Talk to Chuck" launch. During her tenure, Melissa helped shift Schwab's positioning from a discount brokerage to a more full service model that offers investment advice.

Prior to joining Schwab, Melissa held various positions in account management at leading advertising agencies. She managed the Sprint Long Distance account and the global Nestle chocolate franchise for J. Walter Thompson. While at Saatchi & Saatchi, she launched several dot.com businesses - including E-LOAN and Cooking.com - that are still around today. Melissa started her advertising career at Young & Rubicam, where she helped manage an array of food and international household products for The Clorox Company.

For the past two years, Melissa has been an independent marketing consultant. She returned to Schwab, where she launched a monthly newsletter for affluent and active trader clients that reached record levels of readership, as well as developed a wide range of strategic field marketing programs for their Institutional Sales group.

In addition to making a difference in advertising and marketing, Melissa is also passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families in San Francisco. She consults with non-profits like the Ronald McDonald House and the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation, advising them on their short- and long-term communications planning.

Melissa holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in French from Rutgers University and New York University, respectively.
